Call to Action

Time — 2022

Type — Posters
Dimensions —3x600’’ 25 posters

Team — Self initiated project

01. Background

Call to Action represents a fresh approach to portable poster design, emphasizing the essence of its human rights message. This  concept originated during the early stages of the protests in Iran, sparked by the tragic loss of Mahsa Amini, which ignited a powerful movement against the Iranian regime.

The project's core mission is to amplify the voices of those advocating for change and justice, making the message easily accessible and widely impactful.

02. Research

The essence of the poster's impact and portability was a primary focus during the research phase. Delving into various methods to achieve this goal, I explored ways to condense the message while ensuring it resonated powerfully with the audience.

03. Visual Output

By employing screenprinting, I achieved the printing of an entire receipt paper roll with two layers of color. To enhance the interactive element, each poster was hand perforated, encouraging the audience to tear them apart and separate the individual pieces.

04 Conclusion

During this process, what intrigued me the most was the audience's interaction with the output – the hesitation in grabbing and ripping the posters from each other. It became evident that there was room for improvement to enhance the overall experience.

Additionally, I discovered the beauty in the imperfections and distortions that emerged during the printing process, resulting in unique and non-identical prints. The posters had a sense of messiness, authenticity, and humanity that added a captivating and genuine touch to the project.
